A dry mouth and sugary sports drinks can cause havoc with your smile. By taking a few simple steps, you can help to protect your teeth and gums when you exercise.
- Drink plenty of fluids to keep hydrated when exercising. Doing so will help to prevent the development of a dry mouth.
- Brush your teeth twice a day to keep your smile shining bright and visit your dentist for regular checkups.
- Chew sugar-free gum after exercising to encourage your saliva glands to produce saliva.
Oral hygiene is something everyone needs to take seriously when considering their overall health. Runners and athletes may just need to pay a little extra attention to theirs.
