Red Wine Good For Teeth?

12th / March / 2018

It is well known that red wine can stain teeth but it would seem that the self-same tipple can also have beneficial effects on teeth.

Previous research has shown that red wine, taken in moderation, has a positive effect on:

  • Brain function
  • Hormonal health
  • Heart function

A recent study in Spain has also demonstrated that red wine can help with oral health. Polyphenols contained in the wine have antioxidant properties which “protect against the formation of cavities” and also combat gum disease.
