There are many reasons for someone wanting to have their teeth whitened, the main usually being self-confidence. Some people may have been embarrassed by stained teeth from coffee etc. making them self-conscious about their smile.
At Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, we use the ZOOM!® whitening system. This involves applying a unique bleaching gel to the teeth and then the process is accelerated by a special light. The hydrogen peroxide in the gel breaks down and enters the enamel and dentin, which bleaches the stained surfaces. After this process, the patient’s teeth are left looking whiter whilst the structure of their enamel remains unchanged. The treatment only takes one hour and can leaver teeth looking up to 8 times whiter.
